Hi all, hope this finds you all well and gettin' inky.
The current challenge over at the EWV Yahoo! Group is to do the project on page 30 of Wendy's Book Three. It also happens to be the project on the cover of the book. Or, if you don't have the book, you could use two ruler pieces for a roof. Since I can't share instructions from the book, without risk of being hunted down like a dog, I shall just show the pic of my project, and mention a few substitutions I had to make.
I have to say, I love Wendy's books. Well written, step by step instructions with great photos. It's like taking a class in your own home. Love it. That, and let's just say that you don't feel like thinking about what to do for a project. Let's just say. Open the book, gather the supplies, and VIOLA, a wonderful project created, all thought process taken out of the equation for you. Ok, enough blithering..here we go:
So, I didn't necessarily want to cut up some of my vintage yardsticks, so I made some ruler pieces using a wooden paint stick from the hardware store, Wendy's stamps, and wild honey distress stain. Looks real enough to me!
The BINGO card is from the Lost and Found paper stack, a substitute, as well as the rosette behind the 5 cents. Crikey, isn't there a cents sign on the keyboard? Guess not. lol. I suppose I could go out to the Web and find the symbol, but that would take entirely too much time.
So, there you have it. I really like this project, although I think the rosette is a little overpowering, might do something different with that in the future.
I highly recommend Wendy's books, you can get it from your fave retailer where you get your other art supplies, if they don't have it, ask!
Have a great day, thanks for stopping!

Great work, looks just like the original. I haven't got any vintage rulers either so that's a good tip!
Thanks for your kind words on my blog today.
Great idea using a paint stick as your ruler base. (I have about 1000 of those)LOL.
Love all the layers of your project Lori.

I totally thought those were real vintage rulers, NEVER would have guessed you made them from paint sticks! The whole thing is so pretty, Lori!
Oh, yes, sometimes it is SO nice just to make something, and not have to ponder all the details.
